Occupational Therapist Position in Fredericton, NB
About Us: Join our multidisciplinary clinic dedicated to providing developmental and mental health services to children, adolescents, and young adults. Our team includes 4 psychologists serving youth aged 2 to 25, alongside parents, caregivers, and community stakeholders. We prioritize a neuroaffirming approach, supporting various issues like autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, learning and intellectual disabilities, mood and anxiety disorders, and gender identity.
Role Overview: This in-person position, based at our downtown practice, offers flexibility to work from home, in the community, and client homes as appropriate. Hours are flexible, accommodating daytime or evening preferences.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree from an accredited university
- Registration with the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT) and New Brunswick Association of Occupational Therapists (NBAOT)
- Minimum 2 years of pediatric experience
- CPR certification, background/vulnerable sector clearance, and valid driver’s license with vehicle access
Additional Competencies:
- Assessing child strengths and needs, creating tailored intervention plans
- Writing therapeutic goals and action plans
- Collaborating with families and care teams
- Advanced knowledge in sensory processing, fine motor skills, handwriting development, self-care, and trauma-informed practices
- Commitment to evidence-based practice and teamwork
- Strong communication and organizational skills
